Thank You for Hanging With Me!

Hi Reader!

It's been a whole year since I started the GardenEase Newsletter. Can you believe it!? Thank you for following along on the journey.

When I started, I didn't know what would happen. I only knew I wanted to share my gardening adventures with someone ... lo and behold, a year has passed and folks are actually following me.

I'm grateful for you! Just know that.

In this edition:

  • Early Concerns
  • The Joy of Sharing
  • Future Plans for the Newsletter

EARLY CONCERNS

When I started this newsletter, my only goal was to share the things I was learning along the way. As my garden started to grow so many folks reached out to me for tips and tricks on how to start a garden or manage various problems.

I do not have any formal training in growing vegetable gardens but after 5 years of trial and error I can honestly say that I have enough information (YouTube University) and experience to help most people get started in growing at least a couple kinds of vegetables.

The main thing I was concerned about was that NO ONE would even want to read my newsletter. I mean, all the information I would share is easily found online but I trusted that my specific garden challenges, photos, successes and failures would garnish enough subscribers and maintain their interest. It looks like that is happening.

THE JOY OF SHARING

One of the most exciting things about gardening for me was that I could actually GROW food and SHARE it with others!

The first year of gardening, I had cucumbers and squash everywhere. My neighbors are able to see directly into my yard as they walk down the sidewalk so I started handing veggies over the fence to them.

I was so thrilled ... probably more than they were. I can't really explain how happy it makes me to share my vegetables. Maybe it's because I feel proud that I did it, or maybe it's the smile I see in their eyes when they get a handful of fresh veggies from my garden.

I feel the same way about sharing gardening information with my readers! When I learn something new, or see something new in the garden the first thing I think to do is take a picture so I can write about it and share with you all, my gardening 'homies'. :)... did I just date myself??

FUTURE GARDEN-EASE NEWSLETTER PLANS

As I enter into the second year of writing this newsletter, I'm thinking about how I can continue to add value for my subscribers.

Here are my top three ideas to work toward:

  1. I'd like to figure out how to add a chat option or message board to the newsletter so I can communicate with subscribers and we can learn from each other.
  2. Some of you might know that I am also an artist. You can see my work here >> www.jaelle-art.com. At some point, I'd like to add gardening-related art pieces to sell on the newsletter.
  3. This is a big jump for me but at some point I'd like to start a gardening podcast.

I don't know if any of these will happen this upcoming year, but it's a good idea to have goals.

That's all for now. I just wanted to send a quick thank you to all my subscribers. I appreciate your support more than you know.πŸ’Œ
